Our Groups and Workshops

  • CBT Skills Group is a free six-week (2-hour) psychoeducational/skills developing online group for managing anxiety and depression.

    Understanding and challenging our “negative automatic thoughts” is one of the important element of CBT Treatment.

    In this group, you will learn how your thought patterns influence your mood and behaviour. We will also discuss techniques that can help you explore the behavioural patterns that contribute to mood changes. You’ll also learn how focusing on life style changes, self care and mindfulness can help you assist in anxiety and depression management and recovery.

  • Ever wanted to learn more about building healthy relationships and how to support someone who might be in an unhealthy relationship?

    In this free (2-hour) peer-facilitated workshop we’ll discuss what healthy relationships look like and what are some social barriers that impact how we view healthy relationships. We’ll cover how we can build healthy romantic, sexual, platonic, and professional relationships and how to recognize if a relationship might be unhealthy. We’ll also cover how we can support a friend who might be in an unhealthy or abusive relationship and where we can go for resources and support.

  • This interactive free (2-hour) workshop introduces attendees to the basic concepts of mindfulness and meditation.

    Participants will be provided an overview of the benefits of practicing mindfulness, how to meditate and be led in practice, to experience brief meditations and mindfulness exercises first hand.

  • In this free (10-week) group you will learn about mindful eating, engage in mindful-based practices, including meditation, mindful eating exercises and visualization. You will create awareness of your relationship with food and about the difference between thoughts and feelings associated with eating.

    Overall, learn how to develop a healthy relationship with food.

  • This free (4-week)program assists individuals to learn about mindfulness, connecting to the present moment and how this can benefit and improve your ability to regulate your emotions with awareness.

    Mindfulness means paying attention to our thoughts, emotions, and feelings in the body and the mind, as they are happening, and adopting an attitude of curiosity and compassion.

  • This free (1-hour) workshop will provide participants with basic core concepts of mindfulness meditation.

    Participants will be taken through various guided meditations, including body scan, breathing focus etc.

  • This Sleep Workshop is a free (2-hour) online workshop which runs every other month. This workshop uses a CBT approach in learning strategies, to quiet a noisy mind and to engage in behaviour, that helps to improve sleep.

    The workshop helps to understand the contributing factors of insomnia. It focuses on exploring the varying sleep patterns – wake schedule, daytime napping and excessive time spent in bed.

  • This free (10-week) group focuses on assisting clients engage in mindfulness practices, and other skills using the six therapeutic processes of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

    Clients learn skills in managing and coping with difficult experiences, painful thoughts, emotions and feelings.

  • In this free (2-hour) workshop, find out how therapeutic journaling can be a beneficial way to work on your mental health and learning techniques, on how to ensure your journaling is constructive.

    Journaling has been found to boost your mood, enhance a sense of wellbeing, reduce symptoms of depression before an important event, reduce intrusion and avoidance symptoms, and improve your working memory.

  • Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a free (2-hour) online workshop which is run once a year in early November, as many people experience a seasonal onset of depression around this time of the year.

    This workshop focuses on understanding causes, symptoms, and treatment methods for (SAD) and will also introduce healthy coping skills for people living with (SAD).
