What does a mental health clinician do?

Mental health clinicians are able to see patients with a wide range of mental health-related problems.

Common reasons to see a counsellor include:

  • Depression

  • Stress or anxiety

  • Family problems

  • Divorce/separation

  • Drug or alcohol problems

  • Bereavement/loss

  • Work-related problems

  • Trauma

Our clinicians do not work with:

  • Couples

  • Eating disorders

  • Active psychosis

How the process works:

When your doctor refers you for therapy, your referral will be assessed, and you may receive an intake call, in order for us to gather more information, to determine if you would be better served by another agency.  If your referral is accepted you will be contacted by one of our receptionists to schedule an appointment. If your referral is not accepted, your doctor will be notified and will be provided with further resources.
