Dietitians
What is the difference between a Dietitian and a Nutritionist?
A Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist is not the same thing. Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist as it is not a protected title.
A Registered Dietitian is a regulated title and a professional license is required from the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
Dietitians need advanced training in nutrition before providing evidenced based information to clients.
We work closely with your family physician, registered nurse, mental health worker, etc to provide you with the most personalized care.
In order to be referred to one of our dietitians a doctor’s referral is required. If your doctor is a part of the Scarborough Academic Family Health please ask them for a referral. If they are not, then please have your doctor go to the referrals page complete the form and fax it to the number on the document. If you would like to register for any of the groups please go to the registration page and sign up for the group(s) and/or workshop(s) that you are interested in.
